Moore replaces Ed Nottle, who was forced to resign from the field manager’s position because of health reasons. The Roadrunners wish Ed a speedy recovery and all the best in his fight to get better.
Moore is no stranger to Edinburg as he returns after a one year absence in 2011 when he skippered the Shreveport Captains in the American Association.
Moore will be taking the reins of the Roadrunners for his seventh season at the helm of the club. He started is tour of duty in Edinburg as a player before moving in to the dugout in 2005.
Vince’s professional baseball background began taking shape in 1991 as he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves. In 1993 he was traded to the San Diego Padres and reached the Double-A level of competition playing in Wichita and Memphis.
“It’s like coming home and I am very happy coming back to the RGV,” said Moore. “The fans are great and their support has always been strong behind our teams.”
The last two years under Moore’s leadership the Roadrunners made the playoffs and reached the Championship round in 2010.
The Edinburg Roadrunners begin their season with a four-game home stand that starts Wednesday May 23rd against the Abilene Prairie Dogs at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
