Vincent Blue led off the bottom of the second with a walk and after one out Osiel Flores hit an RBI double to right center field that allowed Blue to score making it 3-1 in favor of the Broncos.

Robert Matlock hit a double over the left fielder’s head to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning and Carlos Hereaud followed with a walk to put two runners on for Hunter Owen who then moved up the runners with a sacrifice bunt. Broncos’ starter Will Palmer then intentionally walked Bryon Smith to face Vincent Blue who followed with a sacrifice fly to center field that allowed Matlock to score to tie things at four.
Heading into the ninth with things tied, Broncos’ reliever Julio Pinto (2-4) hit Hereaud to put him at first for Owen who again dropped the sacrifice bunt, but the throw by Pinto to second was wild and allowed Hereaud to advance to third.
