LAREDO, TEXAS ---- A walk-off single by Luany Sanchez in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Laredo Broncos over the Edinburg Roadrunners 4-3 at Veteran’s Field Saturday night. 


Sanchez got the scoring started for the Broncos (13-24) with a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning that made the score 1-0.


The Roadrunners (17-20) answered in the top of the fifth inning.  With the bases loaded, Manager Vince Moore called for a suicide squeeze that allowed Eric Gonzalez to score to tie the game at one.  Robert Matlock then followed with a two-run single to center that drove in B.J. Wheeler and Osiel Flores that gave Edinburg a 3-1 advantage. 


In the bottom of the seventh inning, a sacrifice fly by David Cardona allowed O.J Garza to touch home plate to cut the Edinburg lead to one.  A passed ball allowed Ryan Flynn to score from third for the second run of the inning which tied the game at three. 


In the bottom of the 10th inning and the game tied at three, the Broncos got a walk-off single by Sanchez that allowed Jaime Morales to score from second base for a 4-3 victory. 


Julio Pinto (1-3) picked up the win after he held the Roadrunners scoreless in two and two-third innings. 


Bryan Heaston (0-3) got the loss after he allowed one run in three innings of work. 


The Roadrunners and Broncos will play game two of this four-game series on Sunday night at Veteran’s Field.  Tim Haines (3-3) is expected to face Luis Arroyo (1-3) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
